Abstract

I discuss the problem of emergence of space and time in quantum gravity, with reference to current approaches and their recent results. I then introduce the idea of a “geometrogenesis” scenario in cosmology, and the conceptual difficulties it presents, alongside its intriguing aspects. In particular, I focus on the temporal aspects of this scenario, illustrating philosophical and physical challenges.
